Working as a part of a team assembled
by Colliers
International, RLA Advisors was retained
for a long term engagement by the Department
of the Navy and the
General Services Administration to generate
the due diligence library and market
the 3,700-acres former MCAS El Toro for
sale. RLA maintained an office on the
base and was tasked with being the property
liaison; communicating the nuances of
the base itself, the City of Irvine’s
planned entitlements and process, and
the highly
complicated environmental condition of
the property to both the owner – the
US Government – and the private
development community. The project concluded
with the closing of a $647 million sale
to Lennar Corporation.
